The 11th Annual Hot Products Mark Hahn Memorial 300 jet ski endurance race is set to kick off this Saturday, February 28 in Lake Havasu City Arizona at the Crazy Horse Campgrounds. The event will be sanctioned by the International Jet Sports Boating Association, drawing members from across the US and abroad to particpate. The Mark Hahn event was named in honor of the late Mark Hahn who was a PWC racer and enthusiast. The 11th year memorial also serves as an honor and tribute to Hahn who passed away in 2004. In classic Mark Hahn 300 fashion, a shotgun, LeMans start will kick off the race. Typically, a two-man team is assembled for runabout and stand up ski classes to compete in the 4.5 hour, 300 mile race. Riders who choose to endure the conditions alone will compete in the prestigious “Iron Man” class. Pro Rider Watercraft Magazine affiliate, Brian Smith of Texas, who is partnering with first time endurance racer, Steve Goldberg of Jet Pilot USA, explained that approximately 10 pit stops for fuel will be required for the runabouts throughout the day. Pit times will play a crucial role just as much as lap times. Transponders will also be utilized for race tracking.Manufactures including Yamaha, Kawasaki and Sea Doo will be also vying for bragging rights in the highly competitive stock class among others. Six classes will run simultaneously throughout the day and over 60 awards will be issued following the race. Notable riders in attendance include 2014 overall winner Craig Warner, Chris MacClugage, Dustin Motzouris, Shante Bukes, Brian Smith, Aero Aswar, Bibi Carmouche and many others.Event officials include DSM Events owner, and Executive producer Mike Follmer and Ross Wallach of RPM Racing Enterprises.
