The first day Round 1 of the HydroTurf UWP Watercross tour was eventful to say the least.  Mother Nature was hell bent on holding up the show by delivering some nasty weather and gnarly surf.Motz managed to lose the hood off his ski in practice but went on to win pro ski open.

• Aero Aswar pulled of a great run by winning Pro Runabout Open and Pro Runabout Stock putting Deans Team on the map already for 2014 season.  Dennis Mack took the checkered in Pro-Am Runabout Limited and Rob Greenwald brought home the win in the Runabout Naturally Aspirated class all on Yamaha units which shows that Yamaha is coming out swinging for the fences.  Troy Snyder was dismounted in the surf start but like the Pro he is managed to work his way back through the pack to finish 5th in his class.  Not the start to the season that Troy wanted but we know that he will be back with a vengeance for the next moto.

The turnout for round one pretty strong with racers coming from all over the globe, including S. Africa, Canada and Indonesia.Returning Freestyle Champ Daniel Martin managed to pull off a double backflip off the 7 foot wave breaks during his freestyle routine.  "Today was the scariest thing I've ever done in my life, my first attempt at a double back flip.....and I nailed it!" said Daniel.  You have to admit that if you are going to win and retain a championship, sometimes you have to take big risks and just go for it.One of the things that we like to do at the beginning of the season is to check out the new rigs and skis as they roll in.  This year we have some pretty impressive haulers including the Kommander Ind, Team Faith and Broward Motorsports rigs.  Check out out mini gallery with some of the set ups for this year.  We also managed to catch Lagopoulos, Russo and Hagen
