Jettribe Sponsors Largest Jet Ski Racing Event In The World
Jettribe received the honor of being named the Official Gear Sponsor of the Jet Ski World CupTEMECULA, CA - Earlier this month, the powersport brand Jettribe, which relocated their distribution center to the city of Sulphur Springs, Texas earlier this year, became the Official Gear Sponsor of the Thai Airways Jet Ski World Cup in Thailand. It was an honor for the company to become such a high-level sponsor of this prestigious international race, which has long been regarded as one of the best jet ski racing competitions in the world. The race also marked the end of the 2019 Jet Ski World Series, which Jettribe was involved in sponsoring. The 3-event series named a “Triple Crown” winner for each Pro Level racing class from the Jettribe European Championship, the Thai Airways Lake Havasu World Finals, and the Thai Airways Jet Ski World Cup. Jettribe was established in Southern California as a brand of gear, apparel, and accessories for personal watercraft racers and riders. The brand will celebrate their 25th Anniversary in 2020, and maintains both a corporate office in California, and their brand-new Distribution Center in Sulphur Springs. Jettribe has grown from a local family owned business printing t-shirt in a garage, to a worldwide brand serving both the jet ski racing community, and also watercraft recreation sports.Jettribe sent a small group of staff members and elite riders to Thailand to experience the race firsthand, and dive into the local culture in the beautiful resort city of Pattaya, Thailand. Their goal each year is to create opportunities for their sponsored riders to travel and compete in new venues. Their local distributor in Thailand, Freedom Racing / Jettribe Thailand, generously donated the use of a stock Kawasaki 1500 stand-up race ski. All three riders had never competed in Thailand before. Wyland Reden from Lake Elsinore, California was there to compete in his last Junior Age 13-15 race before his 16th birthday next month. Team Rider Ben Morris from New Zealand was excited to participate in both the Expert Ski Limited & Pro Am Ski Stock classes. One of Jettribe’s top Pro Racers, Factory Rider Stian Schjetlein, traveled from Norway to use the same ski in Pro Ski GrandPrix.The Thailand Jet Ski World Cup, organized under the International Jet Sport Boating Association (IJSBA), was held December 5th – 8th and saw more than 1,500 racers from over 20 countries participate. The pit areas for each country lined the beach a quarter mile to the left and right of the main grandstands. Professional event announcers Dawn Dawson and Dave Arnold from the United States made their premier debut at the race, which was broadcast on the European Channel “EuroSport” as well as on Facebook Live.Jettribe saw their riders achieve great success at the race. Pro Factory Rider Phil Pope from the UK had an amazing run and got to step up to the podium with 3rd Place in Pro Runabout GP. Zsolt Cseke from the Kasza Racing Team in Hungary took home the Triple Crown trophy for Expert Veterans R/A Limited. Factory Rider Aqsa Aswar from Indonesia finished 4th in the crowded Endurance class.Jettribe will be bringing professional jet ski racing to the local community by hosting a Jet Ski Exposition Event May 16th, 2020 at Coleman Park in Sulphur Springs, Texas. The race will be the inaugural event of the Jettribe Watercraft Series. Jettribe wanted to create the series both as thank you to the local community for recruiting Jettribe to open their new Distribution Center in the region, but also a chance to showcase the talent of local jet ski riders in East Texas. The exposition will be a showcase of several different types of racing styles, and well as other powersport recreation activities like wakeboarding.
