Three of the fun little "cars" take to waters near a surfing competition.Surf's up for Fiat. Chris Woodyard, USA TODAY   The Fiat 500, the Italian subcompact, sure turned heads earlier this month when it was seen plying the waters off Huntington Beach, Calif., site of a big surfing competition.Three personal watercraft were reconstructed with Fiat bodies on top. The creative result was that it looked like the otherwise land-loving cars were actually capable of floating and driving through the water.The mind-blowing sight occurred at the 2013 Vans U.S. Open of Surfing, attended by thousands, on opening day. The cheeky promotion was aimed at getting across the idea that the Fiat 500 is, above all else, fun.
