From there I was ready to head to the Pro Watercross Tour in Sparks Nevada for 900cc freestyle. With a 6 hour drive in store, I was very excited to drive to a new place and get to meet some new friends in the racing industry. My friend Chris Anyzeski was out from Florida with Deans Team Racing and helped me out with some altitude adjustments. Sparks Nevada is about 5,000 ft elevation and I couldn't believe the power loss of my ski with that change. Big wake up call to the few locations that are high elevation. Now I know what to prepare for next time as well. But thankfully it worked out and I was able to put together some solid runs in to get 1st place. I felt like I was about 20% less horse power so to overcome that obstacle was wonderful.
From Sparks I drove 9 hours south to Lake Havasu City AZ where Taylor Curtis of TC Freeride and Jherico Kaiser were vacationing with their familys. I went down to enjoy the hot weather and train on my ski for the week. When I arrive I was welcomed by the crew and asked if I wanted to try the double backflip again. Taylor and Jherico both having their Magic speedboats ready to rock. I figured why not lets give it another shot. So they hoped in their boats and I filled up my ski and he hit the water. Even with a less than ideal wake created by the boats, Taylor and Jherico dialed it in the best they could, then I lined up and hit it.
After 4 attempts I was so dang close to landing the trick. We captured an iPhone video that when posted by Taylor on TC Freerides instagram went VIRAL. Over 3.3 million views on one share alone, my double backflip video received over 1500 shares and 4.6+ million views in the first week! Huge internet publicity. I am very excited people enjoyed my jumps so much.
The rest of the week I stayed with the man himself Chris Fischetti who is promoting his new AquaMoto Racing League. Super excited to try and go to his event July 25th in Lake Havasu City AZ. It was a dream come true, woke up and rode at body beach burning fuel and honing my skills every day.
I was also able to stop by Gasket Tech and catch up with the Gasket girls. They got me all hooked up with everything I need to keep the seals tight and the power in!
Then after a great time with Chris, I headed back to Paso Robles where Taylor Curtis had lined up another shot at the double boat wake with Johnny Stieg, Axis Wakeboard boats Pro Wake Surfer. The weekend was nothing less then NUTS! These is a phenominal video shot by Skeye High Film and Edited the one and only Spectrum Innovations. I can't wait for you guys to see the video!
