The third stage consists of reaching the Viard Island Saintes on a loop that racers must complete twice for a total of 144 kms on rough seas with waves reaching up to 2 meters (6ft). Alexander Barret # 130 reached a maximum speed of 91 km / h (56 mph) despite the rough going. François Medori # 4 followed closely by staying in the leader’s wake. Alexander Barret # 130 passed the first buoy of Saintes in 31 minutes. While Francis Medori # 4 was forced to abandon the race. Jean Bruno Pastorello on his # 8 boat maintained the pressure until he was forced to abandon the race. At the end of the race, Alexander Barret # 130 managed to take a well-earned victory by keeping ahead of Teddy Pons by 8 minutes. The Martinique racer, Ugo Fidelin# 64 experienced damage to his pwc which resulted in the loss of the hood.
