The UAE championship consists of 6 races around the United Arabic Emirates. It is known as one of the best locations for winter training and loved by many pro athletes of the sport. Steven Dauliach (FRA) was the favorite going into the first race of new year. In the morning the waves at the beach of world's famous luxes hotel Burj Al Arab got bigger and bigger.Riders had their first laps in training and tried to find the right setup for the race with their tuners. Kevin was still checking every screw on his engine, because the day before he had to change his turbo on his racing boat. It was a hard night for him and his friends but he made it to the race. In the first Moto Kevin and another rider followed Steven, who made a mistake, this not only caused a longer way for those racers but also put them one lap back because of a penalty. The young Austrian was fifth after the start and caught up to second at the end of the 15 minutes race. The second Moto Kevin hole-shoted and could stay the race in 1 meter high waves without googles in front of this year's World Champion and King's Cup Champion Steven Dauliach.Overall Kevin finished second behind Ludovic Coumont (FRA) and his good friend and trainings partner Almur Bin Huraiz (UAE). " One of the best races since European Championship. I finally felt comfortable with the handling and what we did on the the ski. So I could use my whole focus on just racing and performing good and than I was dominating the last Moto in front of Steven! That is a great feeling and good motivation for the next races!", explains the Student.Kevin is in no factory team and does not have two cooks, three mechanics, two helpers and physiotherapists at each race, but he is happy and satisfied that he can professionally do what he loves! Even though he is traveling with friends and his brother, working until two in the morning before his race and making most of the things on his own, he is happy and glad that he can live his dream! Now he has to fly back to cold Austria for some tests at University but in already two weeks he will be back in Abu Dhabi for the second round of the UAE Championship.
