By: Canadian WatercrossPhotos: Vanessa Bunting, Michael RattiThe Canadian Watercross & Frestyle Tour Round 6 and Season Finale kicked off on Lake St. Claire July, 20 in Belle River, Ontario Canada. Competitors from Canada and the North East US flocked from every direction to enjoy the days racing, festivities and nice weather. Promoters Amy Green and Ray Proulx of the Canadian Watercraft Association never ceased to deliver a spectacular event for participants, race fans and sponsors.Notable riders of the day included Max King taking the Beginner Ski class with a win in both mottos. CWA "Rubber Band Man" Scott Fowler got a break from the starting line and took to the water with fellow racers. Multi-class rider Andrew Bezan took the podium in a variety of sport and standup classes. Dave "The Ironman" Davidson battled all weekend with fellow rival Mike Wendricks in the Pro Ski Stock and Pro Ski GP classes. The second annual Soggy Bottom Boat race was held after the first set of motos, with notable race attempts by Novice ski rider Quin Grant and Burt Green who piloted the Pro Rider themed cardboard vessel. Pro Ski rider Daniel Campanella took to the water with Pro Freestyler Michael Ratti during the mid day break for the widely received freestyle show in the Lake St. Claire boat channel. Runabout Rider Kyle "The Smiley Canadian" McKrow ripped up the Runabout class on his Sea Doo RXP-X and took home the "Most Improved Rider" award during the awards ceremony. The Canadian Watercraft Association also saluted it's Junior "Phantom" class riders, the next wave of young talent to hit the personal watercraft industry. In appreciation of his dedication to the Canadian Watercross & Freestyle Tour, Biz "The Biz" Stevens received the "Rider of the Year" award and traveling trophy, presented by local Pro Ski racer, Dave Davidson.The Canadian Watercross & Freestyle Tour would like to thank all affiliate members and sponsors for their continued support.
